Our rapidly expanding advisory work on transactional and regulatory issues relating to IT and telecommunications includes legal assistance in connection with network interconnection agreements; joint ventures in fixed and mobile telecommunication operations and cable retransmission systems; terrestrial and satellite broadcasting; representation before the regulatory authorities in legal matters relating to fixed and mobile telecommunications services; the drafting and negotiation of software development, distribution and licensing arrangements; and the settlement of disputes relating to telecommunications and IT matters.
Assistance may include advice on a regulatory regime applicable within the media and advertising sector, particularly the rules for freedom of the press, broadcasting and speech; journalists’ professional ethics; statutory requirements for the activities of broadcasters and cable operators; data protection and privacy policies; comparative advertising related requirements; evaluation of misleading and other prohibited advertising; and assessment and risk analysis of other issues arising from advertising and media law, and also the drafting and negotiation of agreements associated with advertising and media law, and litigation arising out of advertising and media relations.
The firm offers all legal services relating to intellectual property from traditional copyright and neighbouring rights, and trademark, design and patent matters, to the ever-changing law of software, IT and biotechnology. The practice deals with all legal issues relating to intellectual property within various business sectors such as media, telecommunications, IT, publishing, pharmaceuticals, construction and manufacturing and encompasses the drafting and negotiation of licensing and other IP related agreements, the registration of trademarks, and the enforcement and protection of IP rights, including through IP litigation.
