09-12-2011 On December 6-8, 2011 the XV Polish-Belarusian Business Forum “Neighbourliness’2011” took place in Biala Podlaska (Poland). 30-11-2011 On November 29, 2011 the 3rd forum of Polish investors in Belarus “Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus in terms of financial instability” took place. The Forum was organized by the Department for promotion of trade and investment of the Polish Embassy in Belarus. Senior lawyer Yuliya Drozhja participated in the work of the forum.

16-09-2011 On September 15, 2011 the legal forum on “Public private partnership” (PPP) took place. The forum resulted in establishment of cooperation between the state and business in the process of development of the law on PPP. Nikita Tolkanitsa is the representative of law firm GLIMSTEDT in this project. Nikita participated in legal forum and actively defended the business interest during the discussion of the draft of law on PPP at meetings of working group at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.

28-07-2011 The joint project of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the journal "Lawyer" 'Directive No. 4. Modernization of the Law '(see companies’ news for the May 2011) began its active work through round table discussions on development of proposals in order to improve the current legislation, provisions of new legislation acts with respect to the problems and situations encountered in practice. 22-07-2011 The Journal "Industry and Trade Law" held another legal forum on the topic "Check a deal on its strength: Force Majeure or vital change of circumstances of a proper party". Nikita Tolkanitsa, a lawyer of the law firm GLIMSTEDT, took part in the discussion on practical issues of impossibility to perform, force majeure and its legal consequences.
13-07-2011 On July 12, 2011 there was a regular meeting of the working group on improving the investment legislation of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council under the Council of Ministers. Lawyer of the Law Firm GLIMSTEDT Eugenia Urodnich attended the meeting. The question whether to make significant changes into the current Investment Code of the Republic of Belarus or simply enact a “conceptual” Law on Investments was discussed. Also there was a detailed discussion on a new procedure for entering into investment agreements in the light of recent amendments in the Decree of the president of the Republic of Belarus No. 10 "On creation of additional conditions for investment activity in the Republic of Belarus."
05-07-2011 Realization of the major investment project carried out by Lithuanian company VMG (Wood Industry Group) has started in Mogilev. Capsule with a message to the next generation was placed with a formal ceremony at construction area of future wood-processing complex. 25-06-2011 The seminar on "Public private partnership" (PPP) was held in the Republic of Belarus on June 24, 2011. The seminar was organized with the support of TAIEX, Technical Assistance Information Exchange of the European Commission. Within the framework of the seminar European experts shared their experience in realization of PPP projects and state regulation of such projects. 24-05-2011 On May 24, 2011 the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia organized the business forum «Slovenia-Belarus» in Minsk. Participants of the event were companies, involved in power engineering, chemical and metallurgy industry and interested in cooperation with Belarusian enterprises. 18-05-2011 On May 17, 2011 the business forum «Cyprus: International Center of Business and Finance Activity. Opportunities for Business» was held. The Forum was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 09-04-2011 On April 8, 2011 lawyer of Law Firm GLIMSTEDT Eugenia Urodnich actively participated in the working group meeting on improving the investment legislation in the Consultative Council for Foreign Investments. The proposed changes in investment legislation, need to draw up lists of import goods as well as pre-trial dispute resolution mechanisms of the investor and the state were discussed during the meeting.

28-03-2011 On March 25, 2011 Mogilev city hosted the first in Belarus seminar on the development of image and investment attractiveness of the city.
The partner of Law Firm GLIMSTEDT Darya Zhuk made a presentation on "Not to hope on the state budget, attract investment or public-private partnership in Belarusian manner". The report was devoted to the main forms of public-private partnership in Belarus - joint ventures and investment agreement. The key issues of the report were the problems appearing before the foreign investors in joint ventures and investment agreements. In particular, there are such problems of investors as a disproportionate distribution of shares and interest in joint ventures, increased liability imposed by the state to investors, lack of coordination among state bodies during conclusion of investment agreements, lack of succession by changing officials.
During the event, representatives of Belarusian and international law, investment and consulting companies, consultants to develop the country's image, venture capital investors in Belarus, the professional securities market participants RB and other professionals whose work is directly related with attracting foreign investment to share their vision of the situation and gave practical recommendations to improve the investment attractiveness of both local companies and Mogilev and region as a whole. Particular attention was focused on identication of ways and instruments to create a favorable image of the city of Mogilev in the international information space. The event was organized jointly with the Mogilev city center for the development of small business and investment web - portal «investar.by».
17-03-2011 On March 16, 2011 the second Business Forum "Pharmaceutical Business in Belarus" was held in Minsk. Law Firm GLIMSTEDT is a legal partner of the event.
